A transformative two-day hands-on workshop on Mastering Hypospadias Surgery was held at Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), bringing together nine pediatric urologists from across Pakistan to refine their skills in one of pediatric urology’s most intricate procedures.

Facilitated by the IHHN Pediatric Urology Team Prof. Dr Syed Zafar Zaidi and Dr. Zehra Kazmi the workshop aimed to provide direct supervised operative experience and a collaborative learning platform for early-career surgeons.

Over the course of two days, the team performed 18 live hypospadias surgeries, during which intra-operative decision-making strategies were discussed with emphasis on patient safety, technique selection and management of complications. Participants observed, assisted and performed procedures under expert supervision, gaining practical exposure to a range of clinical scenarios.

By the end of the workshop, all nine participants reported a marked increase in confidence and technical proficiency in hypospadias surgery. Beyond surgical skills, the event fostered a strong sense of professional community and peer support, empowering the next generation of pediatric urologists from across Pakistan.
