Normal and Complicated ECG Workshop at Indus Hospital, Badin

The Department of Cardiology at Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), Badin Campus, successfully organized a workshop on Normal and Complicated ECG. The interactive session aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals in performing, interpreting, and analyzing electrocardiograms (ECGs).

The workshop focused on building competencies in ECG interpretation. Participants learned to identify the components of the ECG machine and ensure proper lead placement. They gained an understanding of standard ECG waves, intervals, and segments, including the P wave, PR interval, QRS complex, ST segment, and T wave. The session also covered the detection of abnormalities such as axis deviation, hypertrophy, electrolyte disturbances, and conduction delays. Additionally, participants were trained to recognize common arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, bradycardia, premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), and heart blocks, as well as signs of myocardial ischemia and infarction on ECG.

The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Arshad Ali Khowaja, Consultant Cardiologist, and Dr. Abid Hassan Khoso, Consultant Cardiologist, both from Indus Hospital & Health Network, Badin.

The workshop reinforced IHHN’s commitment to continuous medical education, professional development, and delivering high-quality patient care through skilled healthcare professionals.
