Indus University Hospital, Karachi, organized an insightful workshop titled “Nursing Self-Advocacy & Cultivating Self-Awareness” on January 22, 2026, at the Seminar Hall, 4th Floor, Old Hospital Building. The session was designed to empower nursing professionals by strengthening self-awareness, confidence, and advocacy skills essential for modern nursing practice.
The workshop focused on helping participants understand the role of self-awareness in their professional and personal lives. Nurses explored their personal values, stressors, and communication styles while learning to recognize early signs of burnout and the importance of setting healthy boundaries. Emphasis was also placed on speaking up for professional needs, navigating workplace power dynamics, and advocating for fair and respectful treatment.
Through guided discussions and reflective exercises, participants learned practical strategies to build confidence, resilience, and emotional strength. The session also highlighted the importance of fostering a supportive and respectful workplace culture that promotes well-being and professional growth among nursing staff.
By the end of the workshop, participants developed essential skills to manage stress effectively, communicate with clarity, and advocate constructively within their work environments. These competencies aim to enhance nursing practice while encouraging healthier, more balanced, and empowered professional lives.
