Strengthening Lab Management: From Everyday Challenges to Sustainable Practices

Karachi, Pakistan – February 3, 2026: A focused workshop titled “Strengthening Lab Management: From Everyday Challenges to Sustainable Practices” was organized at the Transfusion Hall, Blood Center, Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), Karachi. The session brought together laboratory professionals and managers to explore practical solutions for routine operational challenges while promoting sustainable and efficient laboratory practices.

The workshop emphasized key aspects of laboratory management, including important considerations in selecting laboratory instruments such as performance criteria and operational requirements. Participants also gained valuable insights into the core principles of inventory management and demand forecasting, enabling better resource utilization and minimizing operational gaps. Discussions further covered the cost implications and financial viability of introducing new diagnostic services, along with regulatory expectations related to risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and documentation in laboratory operations.

Through interactive group activities, collaborative discussions, and real-time scenario analysis, attendees strengthened their problem-solving and decision-making skills. The session aimed to enhance overall laboratory efficiency and reliability through improved planning, structured processes, and effective resource management.
