Biography: Dr. Bahjat Afreen, a graduate of King Edward Medical University, Lahore, completed her fellowship in Internal Medicine from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP). She received her internal medicine residency training at the Post Graduate Medical Institute, Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore. Developing a strong interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology during her fellowship, she pursued a second fellowship in the same field from CPSP, following which she received residency training at Jinnah Allama Iqbal Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology (JAIDE).
Dr. Afreen served as In-charge at JAIDE, overseeing outpatient management of endocrine and diabetic patients. An Executive member of the Pakistan Endocrine Society and an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, she is currently a consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetologist at Jinnah Hospital Lahore. In this role, she is actively engaged in patient management, teaching undergraduate students and postgraduate trainees. Dr. Afreen is also a dedicated researcher, focusing on Endocrinology topics such as Adrenal and Thyroid disorders, Lipid disorders, Short Stature, and Diabetes.
