Dr. Moazam is Professor and Founding Chairperson of the Centre of Biomedical Ethics and Culture (CBEC) of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation in Karachi, Pakistan. She has previously served as Founding Chairperson of the Department of Surgery, and the first Associate Dean of Postgraduate Medical Education in the Aga Khan University (AKU), Karachi. She is a pediatric surgeon by training with an MA in Bioethics and a doctorate (2004) from the Department of Religious Studies, University of Virginia, USA. She is a member of the National Bioethics Committee, Pakistan, as well as a member of WHO Ebola Ethics Working Group, and WHO Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Task Force. She has participated in various national and international conferences and has authored various articles relating to pediatric surgery, medical education, and bioethics
