Mazhar Abbas
A senior journalist, analyst, and champion of press freedom in Pakistan, the prolific Mazhar Abbas serves as the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) president. Mazhar Abbas has covered many controversial cases throughout his career, including the kidnapping and murder of Daniel Pearl, Wall Street Journal Bureau Chief, in 2022, which kick-started his career. Since then, Mazhar Abbas has regularly written for The Express Tribune, Dawn, The Friday Times, The News International, Geo News, Dunya News, ARY News, and Agence France-Presse. Mazhar Abbas has received the CPJ International Press Freedom Award and the Missouri Honour Medal for Distinguished Service in Journalism in recognition of his services to journalism.
