Professor Dr. Muhammad Rashad Qamar Rao graduated from King Edward Medical College Lahore in 1996. With MCPS, FCPS, and FRCS qualifications, he specialized in ophthalmology, serving at LRBT Eye Hospital, Liaquat National Hospital, and Quaid e Azam Medical College.
Currently Principal of Nishtar Medical College since October 2022, he is also General Secretary of OSP Multan. With 33 research publications, three books, and active participation in conferences, he has made significant contributions to ophthalmology.
He played a key role in establishing the Keratoplasty Unit, Eye Bank, and a 150-bed Institute of Ophthalmology & Allied Vision Sciences in Multan in 2021-2022. Committed to community service, he organizes free eye camps in Punjab, introducing innovative practices.
As the sole CPSP/UHS supervisor of VR in South Punjab, he conducts examinations and serves as an examiner for various medical qualifications. His accolades include prestigious awards like the Gold Medal for Best Paper Presentation, Quaid e Azam Gold Medal, Distinguished Services Award, M. Daud Khan OSP Gold Medal, Prof. Khawja Sharif Hasan Gold Medal, and a Lifetime Achievement Award. |
