Dr. Muhammad Tarique Arain graduated from Dow Medical College and completed his residency in psychiatry from PNS Shifa with his FCPS in Psychiatry. After completing his residency, he joined as a consultant psychiatrist at Benazir shaheed Anti Narcotic force Model addiction treatment and rehabilitation Centre Lyari. In 2017 he joined Dow University of health sciences as an Assistant professor of psychiatry at Dow medical college and civil hospital Karachi. He is a national trainer of the universal treatment curriculum (UTC) for addiction professionals by Colombo plan in Pakistan. Furthermore, he represented Pakistan at the national and international levels for policy, training, and advocacy for addiction treatment and rehabilitation services. Under the supervision, expanding SUD services for all groups in Sindh under one roof and established Sukkur and Hyderabad drug treatment and indoor rehabilitation services in Sindh. He organized five training workshops in Sindh for capacity building of GPs and mental health professionals in SUD management. He assisted undergraduates and postgraduates in training programs of different universities with six publications to his credits.
